Set in the 1880s Pacific Northwest, the story follows a British widower played by Skarsgård, who hires a Native American governess to educate his daughters. As the governess, educated in a Christian mission school, prepares the eldest daughter for an arranged marriage, a mysterious force awakens within her, challenging everything she has been taught.
The cast is rounded out by a diverse group of talented actors, including Darla Contois, Bronte Carmichael, Lily LaTorre, Forrest Goodluck, and Pernilla August.
